Katha Wood is a British fine art photographer whose contemplative, light-led images invite moments of stillness and reflection. Working between London and the North Norfolk coast, her practice capture s the emotional beauty of landscapes, horizons, and urban scenes—quiet, expansive worlds where light shapes meaning.

Katha’s creative path began in Andalucia, Spain, where the sweeping skies and open space inspired her debut, The Bigger Picture Collection. Her evolving body of work now includes The Pool Series, The Norfolk Collection, and her latest exploration, Darkness & Light (2025).

Printed on materials such as textured aluminium, Katha’s artworks harness natural light to create subtle movement and depth—changing with the day and perspective of the viewer. They are not just photographs, but living works that hold presence.

With a background in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, Katha brings an intuitive sensitivity to her work—offering visual spaces that calm, ground, and connect. Her photography is both a personal meditation and a shared invitation: to pause, to feel, and to see differently.

Fine Art Photographer: Katha Wood

Location: London & Norfolk, UK

New York Number 1 was captured during Katha’s first-ever visit to New York City in May 2024, at the age of 56. The trip—an unforgettable road journey from New York to New Orleans—left a lasting impression, with New York holding a particularly special place in her heart. She hopes to return one day, perhaps to exhibit her work.

Part of the Darkness & Light collection, this thought-provoking piece offers more than its striking scale, symmetry, and geometric contrast. It invites deeper contemplation on the layered realities of life within the towering structures of the city—a quiet study of perspective, presence, and possibility.

This collection invites viewers to contemplate the many ways this timeless theme manifests across various subjects.
